The name 3Can comes from an ongoing joke between the company’s founders while attending a trade show in Long Beach, California.
Each morning, Brian would go for a run on the beach to watch the sunrise. One morning, he came back to the hotel with a story about some birds he saw walking in the surf. When asked what they were, he said they looked like Toucans; brightly colored with long bill...

Converting a political candidate from a write-in to a shoe-in is no easy feat. That was the task before Carol Muller when she was approached by John Adams, a local candidate for county district attorney, for help with his campaign.
The first thing Muller drew on was her own experience. Last year alone, she worked on four separate political campaigns, and she has learned that finding the right promotional product is key.
Muller and Adams brainstormed on products that would reinforce his slogan, "It's time for change," yet still fit his budget. After looking at various ideas, they decided on a change purse.
The little purses proved to be big conversation starters at events. "It gave John a chance to meet and interact with the public," Muller says. "Toward the end of the campaign, we ran out because of the high demand. We got to the point where we would look at each other and say, 'You have one, right?' but eventually none of us had even one left!"
Most important, despite being a write-in candidate, John Adams went on to win the election and the office.
